Environmental testing

Simulate years of real world use in days using an environmental chamber

With Electronics Yorkshire’s environment simulation chamber, products can be tested under working conditions to prove that they can withstand the temperatures and humidity of their operating environment. Product can also be stressed, or 'age tested', to extremes on a cycle over hours, weeks or months to prove long-term reliability.

A portal in the chamber enables a product under test to be powered and electronic measurements made over a period of time without having to stop the programme. Because tests concentrate on the durability of materials and substances, malfunctions can be detected at an early stage in the development phase of a product, and thus eliminated.

Companies can carry out accelerated life-cycle testing, stress testing and product reliability testing at Electronics Yorkshire at a fraction of the cost of purchasing their own chamber. This equipment is particularly useful in verifying that a CE mark is still valid against any changes to environmental conditions.

Votsch Environmental Simulation Chamber.

The chamber provides a cyclic, single incremental measurement programme of testing from -70°C to +180°C with humidity from 10% to 98% above 10°C.

 

Environmental testing equipment hire

Customers can use the equipment themselves at our Leeds facility. Time on the equipment can be hired by the hour or by the day, and will include training on the use of the equipment where required.

 

Environmental testing investigation services

Alternatively, samples can be sent to the Electronics Yorkshire Technology Centre along with a clear description of the problem and the investigation needed, and our trained and skilled team will conduct the investigation on your behalf. If there is any uncertainty or if unexpected issues are discovered then the team will involve you by phone. Once the investigation is complete a report will be prepared, which will be sent to you with the returned sample.

 

Costs for equipment hire

Call us for a personalised quotation for either time on our equipment or our investigation and report services. Discounts can also be offered for block bookings of equipment time or investigation services.
