Within the Electronics Yorkshire Technology Centre there is a broad range of testing and analysis equipment available to hire.
We have a wide range of optical inspection devices which can be used for detecting PCB and solder anomalies, whilst our 5-axis x-ray machine is regularly used by companies to detect faults invisible to optical inspection devices.
The environmental testing chamber enables companies to carry out accelerated life-cycle testing whilst the Fischerscope XDAL X-Ray Spectrometer is used for elemental analysis of materials and components.
All our essential equipment is regularly calibrated to ensure it operates to the highest of standards, and our experts are on hand to provide help and advice if required.
Testing & Analysis tasks that can be carried out at Electronics Yorkshire
Non-destructive X-ray investigation
100 percent BGA, µBGA, PoP and QFN inspection, component solder joint inspection and multi-layer board inspection, with the X-Tek [Nikon] Revolution X-ray inspection system.
Optical inspection
Inspect and diagnose BGA and CSP device faults on PCBs with the ErsaScope system
Check copper plating thickness, fillet height, component dimensions after microsectioning with Vision Engineering’s Hawk inspection system.
Microsectioning analysis
Detailed fault analysis of PCB and solder structures with the microsectioning kit consisting of a Buehler IsoMet precision sectioning saw, cast-able vacuuming system and a grinder/polisher;
Check copper plating thickness, fllet height, component dimensions, etc, of materials, including microsectioned components, with Vision Engineering’s Hawk inspection system.
Environment simulation testing
Prove whether a finished product can withstand its operating environment with the Votsch environment simulation chamber.
Material composition and plating thickness analysis
Carry out rapid elemental analysis of electronic components and PCBs with the Fischerscope X-DAL spectrometer.
Thermal imaging
Locate hot areas on PCBs and associated equipment with the LAND Cyclops thermal imaging camera.
